In the Marin public school system alone, six elementary schools, three middle schools and three high schools are currently recognized as California Distinguished Schools. (For Distinguished School honors, schools must meet a variety of eligibility criteria including designated federal and state accountability measures.) This is just the beginning of why people move their families here. Even though you may get less house for your money here than in some other Bay Area communities, families with children appreciate these significant things about Marin schools:

Our public schools are wonderful and we also have a dizzying diversity of Private Schools to choose from as well. The right fit for your children probably exists in Marin County. While test scores are not without value, we suggest that the best way to judge a school is to visit. See the school in person and get a real feeling for the campus, the faculty, the students and the relationship between them all. Each of our schools has its own characteristics and specialties.
